Hello fabulous people!

It’s March, and I’m still here, yay! It’s been a whirlwind couple of months but I’m starting to get into the swing of things at CYT and having a ball. Our workshops at Gorman Arts Centre have been going for a few weeks now, and I have really enjoyed spending time in each of them, meeting our members and watching our amazing tutors at work. There is such interesting and diverse training going on at CYT, I can’t wait to see our end of semester performances.

Our primary school workshops are up and running also, and we’ve actually had to run second classes in some schools because Drama is so popular. More artists in our world, yes! I’ve been lucky to visit a number of our schools over the last couple of weeks and hope to have met everyone by next week. Again, CYT is providing diverse and fun programs for our budding young artists in these forums and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s development throughout the training.

Imaginarium is our first big production for 2015 and will be kicking off next month just after Easter. Children from primary schools all over the ACT will be participating in our three day Festival of Storytelling, doing workshops in writing with ACT Writers Centre, puppeteering with Puppetoodle, dance with QL2 Youth Dance and zine making with Canberra Zine Emporium – FUN! On the final day we move into our first ever 24 hour play project. Auditions for this take place on Saturday March 14th and you can sign up now on our website. Be quick though, places are filling up fast!

What a fab start to the year, see you next month!
